On November 18, 2020, the 4th China Titanium Consumer Products Summit & Exhibition was held in Baoji. The event was co-hosted by China Nonferrous Metals Industry News and Baoji Topda Titanium Co., Ltd. Domestic titanium consumer product manufacturers and material suppliers gathered to explore the development of China’s titanium consumer market. The forum emphasized innovation-driven and coordinated development, promoting titanium product applications, and serving as an important platform for upstream-downstream integration and cross-sector cooperation.

- China’s Titanium Industry Position – After recent structural adjustments and industrial upgrades, China is now the world’s largest producer of sponge titanium and titanium products.
- 2019 sponge titanium output: 85,000 tons (39.9% of global production)
- 2019 titanium product output: 75,000 tons (42.6% of global production)
- Global titanium product consumption in 2019 exceeded 150,000 tons, with China accounting for 46% and the US 40%.
- Complete Industrial Chain – China has established a full titanium industrial system, including titanium mining, sponge titanium production, titanium processing, and product application.
- Shift in Consumption Structure – Traditional titanium applications in chemical salt production and power metallurgy are declining, while sectors like aerospace, shipbuilding, sports, leisure, and consumer products are rising.
- Emergence of Titanium Consumer Products – Titanium is gaining prominence in consumer markets due to advantages in health, safety, and product innovation, becoming a key growth driver for the industry.
The forum highlighted China’s titanium consumer products as a strategic growth area alongside traditional industrial applications, reinforcing the industry’s innovation and global leadership.
