Precautions for Using a Laboratory Electric Furnace:

  1. Always turn off the dedicated power switch after each use.
  2. Keep the inside and outside of the furnace clean.
  3. Do not open the furnace door when the internal temperature is at its maximum to avoid burns.
  4. After operation, wait for the temperature to drop before removing samples. If samples must be taken out while hot, wear heat-resistant gloves and use crucible tongs.
  5. Samples that can be cooled to room temperature should be allowed to cool naturally.
  6. To observe the furnace temperature, the furnace can be powered on and set to room temperature; this allows the chamber temperature to display without heating.
