Having good equipment does not necessarily mean a long service life, as many factors affect longevity. Proper installation is one of the most important. The vacuum non-consumable arc furnace manufacturer provides the following installation instructions:
- Connect Furnace and Vacuum Unit: Connect the furnace body and vacuum unit via the connecting pipe. Ensure the pipe is level; if the furnace is low, raise it. When tightening screws, tighten symmetrically and gradually.
- Position DC Power Supply: Place the DC high-current power supply next to the furnace body.
- Install Upper Electrode: Mount the upper electrode on the furnace.
- Connect Cooling Water Pipes: Follow the connection diagram. Ensure joints are leak-free.
- Connect Power Supply: Vacuum unit and DC power supply connect to 380 V; composite vacuum gauge connects to 220 V.
- Connect Electrodes: Connect the 150 A cable from the DC power output to the upper and lower electrodes. Upper electrode = +, lower electrode = –.
- Install Vacuum Gauges: Mount the glass vacuum tube and ionization gauge on the unit, connect the cables, and link them to the composite vacuum gauge.
- Connect Arc Start Foot Switch: Plug the foot switch cable into the DC power supply socket.
- Connect Control Cables: Plug cables controlling lower electrode lifting and lighting into the sockets at the back of the furnace.
- Vacuum Pump Exhaust: Route the vacuum pump exhaust outdoors to prevent oil vapor from contaminating the indoor environment.
