During the use of vacuum furnaces, electrical faults often occur, mainly manifested as abnormal temperatures, including high-temperature alarms or when the furnace displays a temperature lower than the set value.
Methods to Resolve High-Temperature Alarm Faults:
- Check the Temperature Controller Parameters: Verify whether the parameters of the temperature controller in the operating zone are correct. Compare with controllers in other zones that are functioning normally and carefully calibrate all working parameters.
- Check the Solid-State Relay (SSR): According to the circuit diagram, check whether the SSR output terminal in the corresponding zone is damaged. Method: After powering off, use a multimeter in resistance mode to measure the resistance between the two points of the SSR output. Normally, the resistance should be several megaohms. If it is nearly zero, the SSR has failed and must be replaced with a new one of the same model.
- Check the Thermocouple Contact: When powering on, gently shake the thermocouple probe in the corresponding zone and observe whether the temperature reading fluctuates greatly on the controller. If so, the thermocouple has poor contact and should be replaced promptly.
If the Vacuum Furnace Temperature Displays Too Low:
- Check the Temperature Controller Parameters: Verify whether the controller is operating normally and whether it outputs a signal.
- Check the Thermocouple: Inspect if the thermocouple in the corresponding zone is damaged. To test, swap it with a thermocouple in a normal zone and observe the temperature reading. If the thermocouple is damaged, it must be replaced.
- Check the Heating Element: If both the controller and thermocouple are fine, test whether the heating element is working properly. Method: Power on and start heating, then according to the circuit diagram, use a test pen to check the wires connected to the heating element (the white high-temperature wire on the SSR output). If electricity reaches the element, use a clamp meter to measure the current and compare it with other zones.
