Like any equipment, a vacuum consumable arc furnace comes with an instruction manual. Reading it before use is essential, as blind operation can easily cause damage. Here are some precautions for using a vacuum consumable arc furnace:
- Maintain Cleanliness: During operation, the furnace must be kept especially clean. Internal contamination should be avoided as much as possible. When not in use, the interior should be evacuated to vacuum.
- Preheating with Diffusion Pump: The diffusion pump should only be started and preheated when the low vacuum is below 5 Pa.
- Achieving High Vacuum: The diffusion pump can only be used to achieve high vacuum when the furnace vacuum is below 3 Pa.
- Cleaning After Use: After taking out materials, the furnace should be cleaned immediately. When not in use, evacuate to low vacuum.
- Power Failure Procedure: In the event of a power cut, immediately stop vacuum measurement, close the high vacuum gate valve and power supply, and turn on the backup water system.
