Like any equipment, a vacuum consumable arc furnace comes with an instruction manual. Reading it before use is essential, as blind operation can easily cause damage. Here are some precautions for using a vacuum consumable arc furnace:

  1. Maintain Cleanliness: During operation, the furnace must be kept especially clean. Internal contamination should be avoided as much as possible. When not in use, the interior should be evacuated to vacuum.
  2. Preheating with Diffusion Pump: The diffusion pump should only be started and preheated when the low vacuum is below 5 Pa.
  3. Achieving High Vacuum: The diffusion pump can only be used to achieve high vacuum when the furnace vacuum is below 3 Pa.
  4. Cleaning After Use: After taking out materials, the furnace should be cleaned immediately. When not in use, evacuate to low vacuum.
  5. Power Failure Procedure: In the event of a power cut, immediately stop vacuum measurement, close the high vacuum gate valve and power supply, and turn on the backup water system.
